Zyra Martinez Homedia
I was born on June 17, 1986 in Tandag, a little province in Surigao del sur. I grew up in a simple and poor family, my father work as a laborer, and my mother is a housewife only. The beginning of my life was simple. I came and conquered as the third child of the family among the seven siblings. I lived and grew up with illness that deprived to my liver. My Doctor had advised me for having yearly check up. And I could still remember the days were I’m in the hospital reclining in my grandmother’s lap and clung to her dress as she went to her household duties.
I am a kind of a person with curiosity but having ability to adopt easily like the changing winds that can also lead others to see me as shallow. I am creative and have fun on reading books, making poems and short stories. I am also a nature lover. I like hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities. It had taught me of finding the real beauty of the creatures of God.
Back in my schooling days, I graduated with honor in my primary and secondary level. Since high school my dream was that someday I would be becoming a certified accountant. But fate was so unkind. My parents have gone to a financial problem. For not having a chance to study with my dreamed course, I was still happy because I was still able to take Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in management accounting from a private school in Surigao del Sur.
In my college days, my knowledge had developed my courage. I was a “Vice President” to one of the organization in our school called ‘’Historical Society”. I started to study history and while we were in the province of Surigao, we visited the highest grotto. And there I had my second lesson in history. The history had fought on the spot where we stood that made me excited greatly. I climbed the monument, counting the steps, and wondering as I went higher and yet higher. I was also the “Alumni Muse” in our school that I could proudly say as one of my achievements. lol!
After my college, I was absorb by the Bank during my On-The-Job Training. I was assigned in the New Account. But after months of working I had decided to go to Cebu with the determination of finding new opportunities that could possibly change my life.
And when it came to pass when I already landed in Cebu, I was then hired to an Importer and Distributor of hospital supplies Company as an Accounting Staff till such time I met this organization called “Jobless Society”.
In my first thought when I heard “Jobless Society”, the first idea that came to my mind was of having no job to do but just like setting and pretty. I was very confused why are Jobless Society pioneers were busy than what I had expected. And later days, I’ve noticed that they were earning more money than I got from my job. With my willingness, trust and belief had brought me to join in Jobless Society.
Finally, I understand what Jobless Society is and found out that being one of the Jobless Pioneer is one of my greatest achievements.
And I certainly believed that Jobless Society would be successful and will be well known to everyone locally and even globally in the near future.
