Jobless Society Incorporated has done several charitable activities since 2006 which involves more on Feeding and Giving of Grocery Packages.

Now we are aiming for a more challenging and bigger project.

Next year by mid March, Jobless Society is determined to conduct an Adopt-a-School Program that will benefit one rigorously chosen school.
.

With less time to spare, the team has come up with a plan that would make this activity possible.

We think that schools in the provinces would be the best option to benefit this kind of activity so the team has communicated and contacted the District Head of Cebu Province.

Below is the letter we have sent to the District Head.

To: Department of Education Provincial Superintendent

Dear Madam/Sir;

Jobless Society, Incorporated, a non-stock non-profit organization, will be hosting an Adopt-a-School Program which will benefit one of the public schools within the Cebu province this coming end of School Year 2009-2010. This is in line with our Mission-Vision to care for others and share our time and effort for goodness sake.
With this venture, we seek your help in identifying the schools that fits our criteria for choosing the most-qualified beneficiary of this program.

Our group has come up with the following criteria to filter possible beneficiaries of this program.
Schools

  • with ruined rooms that needs maximum repair
  • preferably in remote areas

We feel that contacting your department is the right approach for us to start this project in full gear. Thus, we would greatly appreciate if you can provide us the list of schools that fits the criteria above together with the following information:

  • Exact Address of the school
  • Contact numbers of the school principal or teacher in-charge

Your help and cooperation would be very helpful for us during our documentation and towards the full realization of this project.

Updates on this activity will be published on our website www.JoblessSociety.org which you can access along with our past activities.

We are hoping for your utmost participation, and we are looking forward to working hand-on-hand with your department to make this activity possible.

Sincerely Yours,

Ruby Kareen Basilla
Chairman

Darwin Jayme
President

Zyra Homedia
Secretary

Our target would be the principal or whoever is in the area that can give us concrete details regarding the situation of the school for us to asses.

All lists will be gathered until end of November then the group will choose the top 5 schools that we will be visiting for proper documentation.

Out of these 5 schools we will choose the one who will benefit the program.

We will also be posting these schools on our website by January next year along with the full documentation that we have gathered and will be placing a poll on which school you would like to benefit.

We will also be having an online poll for you to vote which school you would like to become the final beneficiary of this project. Your vote will greatly affect on choosing the best school to benefit the program.

So how can you help?

If you happen to know, have heard, or seen a school that is within Cebu Province and is:

1. Ruined and has rooms that need maximum repairs.
2. Slightly damaged.
3. Inaccessible during rainy days.
4. Too dangerous to operate with and needs to be moved to another place.

Then all you have to do is send us the following details by commenting on this post.

1. Exact Address of the School
2. Your Name and Contact Number
3. Details of the School being reported

Good Day,

We at Matutinao Elementary School, Badian,Cebu respecfully request assitance in the repair/rehabilitation of one of our classrooms.

Our Grade Five Classroom is in dire need of repairs since the roof has deteriorated due to its usual wear and tear after years of being exposed to the elements. Every time it rains, water drops directly inside the classroom thus disrupting classes.

On sunny days, students have to battle the heat by using hand fans since it has no ceiling to prevent/mitigate the heat from the galvanized iron roof radiating down to the said classroom.

The windows doesn’t have any shutters and is temporarily closed using interlinked wires to prevent unauthorized persons from getting inside the classroom.

We hope that this humble request of ours will be granted for the benefit of all the pupils of these school.

We are very much willing to furnish you the pictures of the said deteriorated classroom for verification and perusal.

Thank you very much and God bless.

Very truly yours,

JOSE T. SAMEON
Head Teacher

I have just sent my intention through email. Our school is really in need of classrooms. Our 3CL Prefab Building was vacated because it is no longer safe for the pupils and teachers to stay. This needs much attention. I am hoping that you include us to be one of your recepients.

Thank you very much and more power.
